Collarts is heralding in 2021 with a bang and expanding into the world of visual storytelling, with the launch of our new Photography degree. Revolving around photographic technologies, portraiture, post-production, and more, the course prepares students to enter the commercial, advertising, and domestic photography industries with ease.
The first intake for the course will commence in Trimester 3, 2021, opening its doors to anyone who wants to develop their technical and practical understanding so they can work in the diverse sectors of the industry, including advertising, photojournalism, portraiture, mobile photography, and more.
Head of Photography Rikki Bunder is taking the helm of the degree, and with over 20 years of photography experience and 10 years in education, he's here to lead his students into this new frontier.
"It is a fantastic, comprehensive mix of practice and theory, commercial and art. The course is 100% photography."
"Photography is the most used communication tool in contemporary media," Rikki points out. "With everyone having a camera in their pocket, it has never been more important to teach, discuss and critically engage with photography."
