Collarts is diving headfirst into film and television, announcing our newest degree in Screen & Media. With a focus on screenwriting, filmmaking, documentary-making, distribution, and marketing strategies, the degree will give students the knowledge and skills they need to develop and manage a career in its various industries.
"At Collarts, we continue to expand our courses that we have on offer," shares Ben O'Hara, the Dean of Collarts, recognising the news of Collarts' latest offerings. The announcement comes days after Collarts also launched Fashion & Sustainability, Australia's first sustainable fashion degree.
"Screen & Media was a natural progression for Collarts. We have a proud history of high quality tertiary education, and now have the means to facilitate a highly personable, hands-on experience for students wanting to excel in Australia's media, film and television industries," O'Hara continued.
With the first intake commencing in 2020, the course will give students an in-depth understanding of diverse sectors of the industry including screen, media, pre and post production, screenwriting, and directing.
"As our demand for screen content expands, so does the need for experts," O'Hara notes. "In the age of streaming services and social media, it's an exciting time for students to create the stories they want to see in the world."
